There's going to be a Hobbit movie? Gosh, I love that book. Might just read it again later tonight. I'll definitely be seeing that when it comes out.

The Hobbit is (much to your disappointment) set before the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It shows how

Bilbo Baggins goes on an adventure to take hold of the dragon Smaug's treasure. It also tells of how he gets hold of the ring. It essentially sets up a whole load of stuff for the trilogy.
